Sale Results

On Dec. 6, 2008, the South Carolina Hereford Association held its December sale with great success!

The sale was held as T. Ed Garrison Arena Cattle Complex in Clemson, S.C. This complex is a 42,000 square foot facility. The sale area has a sawdust floor, which easily accommodates livestock auctions. Portable bleachers and chairs are available to seat approximately 500 guests. The housing area can be equipped with tie panels or holding pens for approximately 300 head of cattle.

Lot 13 — $2,025— WCF Victoria H419 N121 consigned by White Columns Farm, North Augusta, S.C. Sold to Riley Farms, Saluda, S.C., for $1,000. Heifer calf, WCF Victoria M766 U540, sold to White Hawk Ranch, Marietta, Ga. for $1,025.

Lot 42 — $1,975 — Church View Lady 311R consigned by NJB Limited, Harvest, Ala. Sold to John Wesley Bowen II, Walnut Grove, N.C., for $1,175. Heifer calf, NJB Lady Ranger 831, sold to Notchey Creek Farm, Madisonville, Tenn., for $800.

Lot 14 — $1,900 — WCF Victoria M15 P235 consigned by White Columns Farm, North Augusta, SC. Sold to Riley Farms, Saluda, S.C., for $1,000. Heifer calf, WCF Victoria L743 U534, sold to Forrest Polled Herefords, Saluda, for $900.

Lot 47 — $1,850 — FF G16 Victoria H473 L691 consigned by Fowken Farm, Jonesville, S.C. Sold to Riley Farms, Saluda, S.C., for $1,050. Heifer calf, FF Maid BTL N388 T653, sold to White Hawk Ranch, Marietta, Ga., for $800.

Pre-sale Banquet

The pre-sale banquet was held at the Clemson Ramada Inn with a prime rib buffet to start the evening. We had more than 75 members, spouses and attendees from other states in attendance. A report was presented by South Carolina junior Hereford members. Also, an update was given on the grass-based Hereford-Angus project at Clemson University.
